High Point school mourns slain teacher Laurrissa Armstrong

RIP Laurrissa!

News Record reports about 50 people gathered today at a middle school here to say farewell to slain teacher Laurrissa Armstrong.

Welborn Academy of Science and Technology held an Evening of Remembrance for Armstrong, who taught at the school for 14 years. She taught family and consumer sciences, once known as home economics.

On Aug. 29, Armstrong was shot multiple times in what police believe was a domestic violence incident and died days later. She was 62.
Her estranged husband was found a few miles from her Greensboro apartment and later pronounced dead.
