These are
pretty low statistics for the city of Chicago who routinely have 10 to 25
people shot every weekend. I thing the
usual suspects were too busy buying Christmas presents for their hood rats to
be able to shoot somebody
Three people
are dead and at least five people have been wounded in gun violence in the city
late Friday through early Sunday, police said.
Hakeem
Walton, 20, of Hammond, Ind., was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical
Center in Oak Lawn at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical
Examiner’s office.
Roughly 16
hours earlier on Saturday, police say Walton was in the backseat of a car in
the 2700 block of East 84th Street when gunfire rang out and the back window of
the vehicle shattered about 2:15 a.m. Police initially said the shooting
occurred in the 8500 block of South Burnham Avenue.
When the
other passengers turned to Walton, they saw he was shot in the back of the
head, they told police.
The driver
of the vehicle took Walton to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where he was listed in
critical condition, police said. He was later transferred to Christ Hospital,
where he died.
About 2:15
a.m. Sunday, a male died after being shot in the head in the North Side Logan
Square neighborhood in the 3500 block of West Diversey Avenue, police News
Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. The medical examiner’s office could not
immediately confirm the death.
About 5:19
a.m. Sunday, a male died after being shot in the 3300 block of West Crystal
Street in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, police News Affairs Officer John
Mirabelli said. The medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the
death.
