Former President George H.W. Bush remains in intensive
care at a Texas hospital but his condition continues to improve - so much so
that he is now singing to his doctors and nurses.
The 88-year-old was admitted to Methodist Hospital in
Houston on November 23 because of a bronchitis-related cough,
which had also sent him there for a week earlier in the month.
'The President is alert and, as always, in good spirits -
and his exchanges with doctors and nurses now include singing,' family
spokesman Jim McGrath said in a brief statement.
'The Bushes thank everyone for their prayers and good
wishes and, like their doctors, are cautiously optimistic that the current
course of treatment will be effective
